JBS (BEEF producer) had paid $11 million to REvil ransomware group for decrypting their files.

JBS , one of the worlds largest beef producer had sent the public notification that they had paid $11 million in bitcoin for decrypting the files which was encrypted during the ransomware attack.

American BEEF processing giant JBS had announced that their production on multiple sites was forced to shutdown due the cyber attack on 30th of May.

Additionally, JBS has confirmed the cyber attack had impacted multiple production sites across different countries including United states, Canada and Australia.

The BEEF producer has said that they are not aware of any breaches, However they had confirmed that they had a severe impact to their infrastructures located in North America and Australia.

“The FBI stated this is one of the most specialized and sophisticated cybercriminal groups in the world. JBS USA’s ability to quickly resolve the issues resulting from the attack was due to its cybersecurity protocols, redundant systems and encrypted backup servers. The company spends more than $200 million annually on IT and employs more than 850 IT professionals globally.” stated in the press notification.
